Imperfect Fungi
Habitat:
Can live almost anywhere (including on/in a host)
Reproduction:
Asexual, parasexuality (Sexual reproduction may be possible, but the proper conditions never have been found. 'Perfection' in fungi is sexual reproduction. Since no one has seen these fungi reproduce, we consider them imperfect)
Anatomical Features:
Will depend on the species. Fungi do have hyphae in common, but the hyphae actually do have differences within the imperfect fungi.
Evolutionary Milestones:
*Being Eukaryotic is sometimes considered a developmental milestone*
Predators/Prey:
Will depend on organism
Symmetry:
Radial, bilateral, or asymmetrical
Mobility:
Will depend on organism
Development:
Quick fact- Imperfect fungi are in this category because scientists actually do not understand their developmental life cycles. After being placed into the
'imperfect fungi' category, they can then be placed into club, sac, or conjunctional fungi.
